"While there is surely a critical tone, it is tempered with the notion that humans are not "versus" nature but part of nature and their industry is somehow analogous to that of other animals. This is where rural and urban landscapes connect for me. I am interested in finding pieces of a story, suggesting a larger narrative rather than making any one obvious statement. As the three images you chose suggest, I do tend toward the maudlin details. I suppose it is a device. All good stories contain loss and mystery."
